All of our professional caregivers have provided satisfactory references prior to employment and are fully bonded and insured. Additionally, every caregiver who works for San Diego Home Caregivers must pass a thorough background check conducted by the FBI and Department of Justice through the Caregiver Background Check Bureau and pass a 10-panel drug screening. All of our caregivers are registered with the Department of Social Services Home Care Aide Registry. We are a licensed Home Care Organization (HCO# 374700105) that maintains employer taxes, worker’s compensation insurance and unemployment insurance for our W2 employees. This means that you can feel comfortable letting us be the employer, delivering a professional caregiver directly to your home.
Professional Home Health Care by San Diego’s Best Caregivers
Once hired, we work hard to ensure that each caregiver is well trained and confident in his or her role in order to provide the best care and companionship possible. We provide our caregivers with online care training and subsequent testing using a customized Home Health Care Services Bureau-approved training system. We also provide as needed “spot” training by qualified personnel for those who need training with things like Hoyer lifts, slide boards, and other areas unique to your caregiving needs.
Our team of caregivers is available to assist you whenever you need – during the day, throughout the night, and on weekends and holidays. We also have staff on-call to help you 24 hours a day, in case your caregiver falls ill or has an emergency.
Licensure in California
As of January 1st, 2016, California law passed the Home Care Services Consumer Protection Act, requiring all home care agencies, or “Home Care Organizations” to be licensed with the California Department of Social Services and created a public online registry for Caregivers as “Home Care Aides” who have been background checked through the Care Provider Management Branch (CPMB). It is mandatory for all Caregivers to be registered in order to provide home care services through an agency. San Diego Home Caregivers’ HCO# is 374700105. It’s the law and it’s intended to provide consumer protection for elderly and disabled individuals who hire caregivers to come into their homes.
This online registry, which is maintained by the Home Care Services Branch (HCSB) of the Department of Social Services, allows Home Care Aides to submit an online application to be listed on the Registry. In addition, the Registry provides the public with an ability to search for a Home Care Aide who has completed the application and criminal background check process. Please note, for this search feature you must have the Home Care Aide’s first and last name and their HCA ID# issued by the Department.
